In the last post we talked about branding your business Twitter profile.
Not only does this help to further foster brand awareness, by customizing the appearance of your Twitter account, it can also help to make you stand out from the crowd and get recognised.
So, what next?
Well, there’s no point having your Twitter account optimized and branded and posting dozens of tweets a day if nobody’s going to know about it. So the next step is to start getting people to follow you.
First off, you’ll want to see if you can find anybody to follow. You can do that by clicking on the Find People link on the top right hand side of your screen and searching for people there. As with all social networks participation is key, it’s all about give and take. So if you want to get people to follow you, you want to start following them first. This is something which I’ll be going into more detail about later on.
In the meantime, one surefire way to get your name out there is to sign up for an account at www.twellow.com. Click on Register For Free at the top right hand side and enter your email address and a new password, then click the Continue To Twitter button. If you wish you can untick the box that says “Tweet This”, otherwise your new Twellow account will be announced on your Twitter page.

You will then be redirected to your Twitter account. Enter your Twitter username and password and then click the Allow button. Once you have done this you will be redirected back to Twellow. Now click on the link to set up your profile.

Next you need to enter your site’s URL, your bio and your categories. You will also need to verify your account. To do this go to the inbox of the address you used to set up your new account. There will be an email there from Twellow, follow the instructions provided to complete the verification process.

And that’s it! You’re now on the Twitter Yellow Pages!
